The Family Visa program offers Canadian citizens and Permanent Residents (PRs) the opportunity to sponsor their family members for immigration to Canada. If you are a Canadian citizen or PR with a foreign national spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner, or dependent children, you can sponsor them to become Canadian PRs.<\/p><p>Simply complete a Canada Sponsorship Application with the required details, and you will be able to reunite with your family in Canada promptly.<\/p><p>As of October 25, 2012, sponsored spouses or partners are required to live together in a legitimate relationship for two years from the day they obtain PR status in Canada.<\/p><p>Proof of the financial record of the sponsoring individual is a mandatory requirement for all types of family visas.<\/p><p><strong>Types of Family Visa<\/strong><\/p><p>1. Spouse: A Canadian PR can sponsor their legally married spouse, including same-sex partners whose marriage is legally recognized in Canada or in a country where same-sex marriage is legally accepted. No financial assistance is provided by the Canadian government for the sponsored spouse.<\/p><p>2. Children: This visa allows Canadian citizens and PRs to sponsor their own or their partner&#8217;s dependent or adopted children, provided the child is under 19 years of age. Dependent children are permitted to live, study, and work in Canada.<\/p><p>3. Common-Law Partner: The Common-Law Partner visa grants both same-sex and opposite-sex partners the right to stay with their Canadian partner in Canada, along with their children, while demonstrating the intention to provide financial support. Sponsored individuals are eligible to live, study, and work in Canada for an indefinite period.<\/p><p>4. Conjugal Partner: Partners who were separated by circumstances like war, discrimination, or other barriers can join their Canadian partner through the Conjugal Partner Visa. This visa allows partners of all sexes, along with their dependent children, to stay with their Canadian partner and to live, study, and work in Canada.<\/p><p>5. Parent &amp; Grandparent: The Parental and Grandparental visa enables parents and grandparents to be sponsored by their Canadian children or grandchildren. Sponsors must financially support them without relying on government or public funds. The approved applicants are entitled to live, study, work, and obtain permanent residency status in Canada.<\/p><p>6. Other Relative \/ Friend: Canada fosters family bonds by allowing a Canadian citizen or PR to sponsor one relative, regardless of their age or relationship. The sponsored applicant can live, study, work, and become a permanent resident in Canada.<\/p><p><strong>Provincial Nominee Family Visa<\/strong><\/p><p>The family-based Provincial Nominee visa permits Canadian citizens\/PRs settled in the following provinces to sponsor their family members, allowing them to live, study, work, and become permanent residents in Canada:<\/p><p>&#8211; Manitoba<br \/>&#8211; New Brunswick<br \/>&#8211; Newfoundland<br \/>&#8211; Nova Scotia<br \/>&#8211; Saskatchewan<br \/>&#8211; Prince Edward Island<\/p><p><strong>Parent and Grandparent Super Visa<\/strong><\/p><p>Parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens\/PRs can apply for a Super Visa. However, dependents of parents and grandparents are not eligible for this visa and must visit Canada using a regular visitor visa.<\/p><p>The Super Visa is valid for 10 years, allowing applicants to visit their family in Canada for up to 2 years without renewing their status. To be admissible, Super Visa applicants must meet the following conditions:<\/p><p>&#8211; Intention to leave at the end of their visit.<br \/>&#8211; Ties to their home country.<br \/>&#8211; Purpose of the visit.<br \/>&#8211; Financial situation.<br \/>&#8211; Economic and political stability of their home country.<br \/>&#8211; An invitation from a Canadian host.<br \/>&#8211; Submission of a letter promising full financial support from their Canadian citizen\/PR sponsor, who must also have Canadian medical insurance for a minimum 1-year period in Canada.<br \/>&#8211; A medical
